QUADS at
The Theatre Store, 18th September 2010
"Discovering
Theatre in Derby" is an exciting series of events in an empty shop in
Derby: it will all take place at 48 St. Peters Street, Derby, (what used
to be La Senza), and is now given the name The Theatre Store. You
may have seen
the write-up appeared in last Friday's Derby Evening Telegraph, the
paper version included a picture of Marilyn and Sophie from the Pastimes
production. There are also some photos of the Theatre Store on the
Sustained Magic website
As part of this
event, QUADS will be running a Pick up a Script open rehearsal at the Theatre Store on
Saturday 18th September, 12 noon to 3pm. Jan will be doing a
read-through with some members of the November cast
and any other QUADS members who would like to help - interested
members of the public can drop in and read one of the parts. There
is also a display board in the shop
with QUADS show photos and
flyers/booking information for our next show.
Full and
up-to-date details of all the Theatre Store events are at

QUADS Book
Fair, 23rd October 2010
11am to 4pm– Book/box collection
We've set ourselves a target of collecting 400 books
to sell at this fundraising event. Please bring paperbacks, children’s books,
and fruit/veg boxes (shallow wooden trays) to
display the books, to any QUADS rehearsal, at the
hall, every Tuesday and Thursday, 8 til 10pm.
Nearer the day, we will also be asking for donations of cake to sell
with tea and coffee at the event.
17th to 20th November 2010 production:
The Scottish Play
After
much thought about choosing a play to fit in as many of the available
actors as possible (eleven!), we have chosen to do The Scottish Play by
Graham Holliday.
This
witty comedy tells how, when the Shellsfoot Thespians' planned
production is cancelled, estate agent Michael's ambition to direct
'Macbeth' is finally realised.
However, it’s not long before the theatrical jinx surrounding the
Scottish Play begins to bite… the box
office is now open, to buy tickets (£6 all seats) please ring Julie on
01332 550174 or email
tickets@quarndonquads.co.uk.
I'll be mailing out booking forms soon, in the
meantime there is a temporary
The Scottish
Play booking form here, which you can email (or post with a cheque)
instead if you wish, it's A5 but will print o.k. onto A4 paper.
