It’s 1979. Esme Allen is a well-known actress at just the moment when the
West End is ceasing to offer actors a regular way
of life. The visit of her young daughter, Amy,
with a new boyfriend sets in train a series of events which only find their
shape sixteen years later. Playwright David Hare's
four-act family drama mixes love, death and the
theatre in an exciting and original way. Previous
productions have included Judi Dench and Felicity Kendal in the cast and
have been performed at the National Theatre and on Broadway

QUADS Fundraiser, "Cat's Cradle" by Kurt Vonnegut, presented by Miracle
Theatre Company,
Thursday 5th March 2009,
8pm, Quarndon Village Hall
“Perfect Family
Entertainment!”
“Cat’s
Cradle is an unforgettable ride!”

The
atomic bomb was not Dr Felix Hoenikker’s most devastating creation. When
the top secret formula: ice-nine falls into the hands of his 3
dysfunctional children, a series of hilarious and improbable events lead to
a rather low-key Armageddon!
This is
the first UK stage adaptation of Kurt Vonnegut’s seminal 1960’s novel,
exploring serious themes through laughter. This classic satire on modern
science, full of bizarre but all too human characters, is a perfect vehicle
for Miracle’s blend of physical theatre, comedy, film and music.
