Derby Shakespeare, who we
have close links to, are performing
Titus Andronicus this November (Chris Scott is directing). We are
organising a group trip to see this production on Saturday 14th Nov. If you
are interested, please contact Sheila (01332 553982) as soon as possible,
and certainly before 14th October to give Sheila time to get the
tickets.
QUADS November 2009 shows: "Pastimes" and "Curtain Up!" The comedies are 'Pastimes' and 'Curtain Up!', both firm favourites with local theatre groups. A little more detail about these shows can be found on the Current Productions webpage. As with the last Double Bill, tickets will be £6 for either show, or a combined ticket for both shows for just £10, box office details to follow. The dates are spread over a two-week period: Wednesday 18th Nov Pastimes Stage preparation and props for both plays are progressing, but we are short of help in these areas. If you can help, please contact Jan (01332 552244). Also, if any member has first aid training, and would be willing to help if they happened to be on-site when a medical issue arose on a play night, can they please contact Marilyn (01332 840518). There will be an American Supper - people are asked to bring food to share and drinks for themselves. The play to be read is the comedy ‘Comfort and Joy’ by Mike Harding. The various parts to be read out will be chosen on the night. Please come in optional fancy dress (anything Christmas-related, even that jumper Auntie gave you). There will be a charge of £2.50 on the door and a raffle. Doors will open at 7pm to allow for setting up of the room.
Team Events/QUADS Cabaret Night, Saturday 5th December, 7.45pm The date is confirmed
now for 5th December, 7.45 for 8pm start. There will be an American (Bring
and Share) Supper. Tickets will be £5 to include a prize draw/free raffle.
We are looking for cabaret acts of all sorts, musical, comedy,
whatever you can do, please contact Tony Glover (01332 550603) directly who
