Annual General Meeting, June 2008
The AGM was lively and
well-attended by 23 members. A short summary if you missed the meeting:
A good year financially, with end of year cash balance similar to last
year’s position, both productions having a healthy profit of around £400
each, plus about £500 fundraising from the 3 Live & Local events and the
Quiz night. Vicki Bradwell stood down from the committee and the vacancy
was filled by Sheila Wood. An updated constitution was approved by the
members. Annual subscription rates were raised to £15 p.a. to help cover
the society’s running costs. Ticket prices were raised to £6 a show (£10
to see both November shows). Jan reported her plans for two alternating
shows in November and the summer programme was
agreed.
Annual subscriptions now due
The treasurer received a large number of subs at the end of the AGM. If
you have not yet paid, £15/year is now due (£7.50/year under 16). Please

One Act Play/Social Evening, Wednesday
30th July, 8pm, Upper Village Hall
Doors open at 8pm, play
starts around 8.30pm. This evening is open to QUADS members, family and
friends only. Please bring your own drink, plus
food to share for an American supper. £2.50 per person on the door helps
to pay for hall hire. There will be a quiz and also a raffle, any raffle
prizes from members greatly appreciated. Last year was great fun, so
please come along!
Audition
for November shows, Tuesday 5th August, 8pm, Lower Village Hall,
Quarndon
An exciting departure from the normal
autumn show this year. Subject to finding a suitable cast, we are planning
to put on two different productions on alternating nights, Thursday to
Saturday, over a two-week period. Two different casts, a drama and a
comedy… and both plays performed in the round. Show dates are:

Jan Baggaley is running a joint audition
for both shows at 8pm on Tuesday 5th August in Quarndon Village
Lower Hall. If you want to talk to Jan beforehand, she can be contacted on
Derby 552244. If you are interested in auditioning but are unable to make
the audition date, again please ring Jan before the audition to be
considered for a role.
Backstage crew:
with two separate shows on alternating nights, we will need lots of help
backstage/offstage (wardrobe, props, prompt, producer, stage manager,
sound, lighting, publicity/marketing, ticket/programme sales, front of
house and refreshments). If you fancy trying your hand at something
different, now’s your chance! Please contact Jan by Tuesday 5th
August on Derby 552244 if you are able to be involved offstage in this
unique event.
